Lake City

This neighborhood, centered around the stretch of SR-522 known as Lake City Way, has seen
boom and bust times as other freeways were developed. It has a reputation as one of the rougher (though
also cheaper) neighborhoods in Seattle, an image not helped by the expanse of pavement and general
pedestrian unfriendliness. It has a storied past of speakeasies and strip clubs, but these days it’s mostly
known for car dealerships. Quite a few pot shops have sprung up in recent years.

The area between Lake City leading down to the lake shore is relatively wild and forested, with tall
trees shading the streets. An old-school Verbena coven has a sanctum here in a large house nestled into a
big lot overlooking a ravine. The Wandering House is currently tucked away on a side street here as well.

A small magical smuggling ring headquarters its operations here. The leaders of the gang are a mage
and a vampire, and they draw membership in their ranks from both, filled out with low-level sleepers and
ghouls. They specialize in smuggling mystical artifacts, quantities of tass, body parts of magic creatures, and
similar black-market magical items. Their operation is small but growing, utilizing Seattle’s status as a major
land/sea/air transportation hub to obtain and move items from all over the world. They keep their goods
in seemingly innocuous storage units around Lake City. Very little of what they move is blatantly illegal to
mortal authorities, but most mages would look askance at the sale of powerful, dangerous relics - not to
mention the fact that more than a few of these items were stolen from the Traditions and the Union
outright. They are easy enough to contact, and the unscrupulous mage in search of something unusual will
find them always ready to meet in a parking lot with a trunk full of magic weapons.
